Senior Legal Counsel

Our client is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team in Bangkok. The role offers a competitive salary range, reflecting the seniority and importance of the position.

What you'll do:

As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding the company's interests by providing top-notch legal support. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve working closely with various stakeholders to understand the company's strategies and priorities. You will draft, review, comment on, and negotiate a variety of contracts while ensuring compliance with Thai laws

• Work closely with all stakeholders to understand the strategies and priorities of the company
• Draft, review, comment, and negotiate moderate to more complex contracts and other legal instruments
• Handle legal matters and provide legal advice in compliance with Thai laws, regulations, formalities and policies
• Provide clear, well-prepared, timely and fit-for-purpose oral and written legal advice
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations; develop legal strategies and provide advice on such strategies
• Advise and support on regulatory matters; manage and support emergency responses
• Lead and manage legal disputes
• Effectively identify, select, instruct and manage outside counsel in compliance with company guidelines
• Participate in deployment of Legal initiatives
• Handle corporate governance matters

What you bring:

• Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) or higher
• At least 8 years of PQE with license to practice law in Thailand
• Experience with a multi-national company or an international law firm is advantageous
• Oil and gas industry or retail experience is beneficial
• Demonstrated skills in contract drafting and providing quality legal support
• Ability to handle difficult issues and tasks effectively
• Experience in corporate and commercial matters as well as litigation is preferred
• Highly motivated self-starter who excels in dynamic team environments
• Ability to think laterally and produce novel solutions
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Thai and English
