Legal Manager - SEA

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a seasoned Legal Manager to join our client's team in central Bangkok, Thailand. This role offers the chance to provide comprehensive legal support across the SEA cluster, focusing on achieving corporate and commercial objectives while ensuring compliance with the law.

What you'll do:

* Actively participate in the negotiation and drafting of legal documents, ensuring adequate support at the operational level

* Collaborate with all functions across the SEA Cluster in all legal and related matters, providing high-quality service to ensure compliance with applicable laws and management of risks

* Work closely with the Compliance team to ensure adherence to anti-corruption legislation as well as company policies and procedures

* Develop training programmes, precedents, guidance notes and updates for commercial management and other employees

* Build and maintain strong working relationships within the Asia region, understanding business needs and strategic plans to provide proactive advice

* Translate documents from local language to English language

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for this Legal Manager position brings a wealth of experience from FMCG or regulated sectors such as tobacco, alcohol or pharmaceuticals.

* Minimum 8 years post qualification experience in FMCG or a regulated sector such as tobacco, alcohol and pharmaceuticals

* Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating general commercial contracts

* Bachelor's Degree in Law, Economics, Political Science, or equivalent

* Fluency in Thai & English (written & verbal)

* Local knowledge of the market (any knowledge about the other SEA Cluster markets is desirable) and cultural sensitivity

* Excellent interpersonal skills, influential, strong teamwork qualities

* Basic awareness of Intellectual Property principles (i.e., trademarks, copyright etc.)
