Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel

A leading international consumer business is seeking a high-calibre Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel (x1 vacancy) in Bangkok to support a fast-pace, large and complex business in Thailand.

About the Legal Counsel/Senior Legal Counsel Role:

You will be business partnering with other divisions, e.g. sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, to provide legal advisory support in all aspects. You will enjoy competitive base salary with provident fund for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide advice on all aspects of Thai law to the business in Thailand including commercial contracts, procurement/supply chain contracts, general legal advice, labour law and effectively business partner supply chain & factories in all aspects of communication and ways of working with the business
• Being the day-to-day legal point of contact for partnering teams, in advising on regulations and other issues
• Advising the business on privacy, data protection, competition, and consumer law issues
• Drafting and negotiating agreements and other legal documents to support the businesses including but not limited to confidentiality agreements, vendor contracts, tender agreements, and service agreements
• Act as liaison to company secretary for ensuring proper corporate governance including organising and minuting board meetings and ensuring timely filing of company secretarial documents
• Identify potential legal risk of business activities, and proactively take steps to minimise legal exposure and effectively advise the business on practical solutions
• Ensure that the business complies with all internal policies, local regulatory and reporting requirements
• Keep abreast of legal developments and advise on the potential impact on the business
• Prepare training decks and conduct training for the business for, amongst others, legal induction, business integrity, corporate governance, employment law, and competition law

To succeed in this role you must have good in legal Knowledge and drafting skills.

Key Requirements:

• FMCG industry knowledge could be an advantage
• Business level proficiency in Thai and English in both verbal and written
• Thailand Bar qualified lawyer with between seven-10 years’ experience in reviewing, drafting and negotiating commercial agreements in English and Thai in a law firm or in-house setting
• Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• Ability to prioritise work and severity/importance of matters is crucial
