Head of Legal

Head of Legal Location: Bangkok CBD We are currently seeking a highly experienced and qualified Head of legal to join the prestigious international bank. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of professionals and overseeing various aspects of corporate banking, financing, and other related products.

Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor and provide guidance to a junior team member.
• Utilize general knowledge of corporate banking products and services, with regional support available from Head of Legal in Singapore.
• Efficiently manage the team's workload and ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor and provide preliminary advice on litigation matters, occasionally involving bank guarantees and employment law, and collaborate with external counsel as necessary.
• Identify and engage suitable external legal counsel when required.
• Evaluate and review non-legal agreements as part of the role.
• Act as a focal point for the team, providing expert advice and guidance on legal matters pertaining to corporate banking activities.
• Collaborate with other departments within the bank to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and external partners.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in law or higher.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of post-qualification experience in corporate banking or international law firm.
• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and practices.
• Proven experience managing a team and leading successful legal operations.
• Ability to handle litigation matters and collaborate effectively with external counsel.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluency in English is required.
