A leading global consumer goods organisation is seeking a Human Resources and General Affairs Manager to play a pivotal role in establishing and supporting their new commercial office in Bangkok. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to be at the heart of a major market entry, where your expertise will directly shape the foundation and ongoing success of the Thailand operation.

What you'll do:

  • Develop and manage the annual budget for the office, ensuring all expenses are tracked accurately and financial resources are allocated efficiently to support business objectives.
  • Oversee payroll reporting processes while providing essential support for basic accounting tasks and tax operations to ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Supervise all aspects of human resources operations including payroll administration, recruitment activities, performance evaluations, and employee training initiatives.
  • Liaise effectively with external accounting firms, tax consultants, legal advisors, and government authorities to facilitate smooth business operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage general affairs by overseeing daily office operations, maintaining facilities, coordinating supplies procurement, and ensuring a pleasant work environment for all staff members.
  • Support the initial setup of the new office by coordinating logistics, sourcing vendors, setting up systems, and handling all operational activities required for a successful launch.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the Bangkok office and headquarters, ensuring clear communication channels for reporting updates and sharing information.
  • Assist with planning and supporting business trips from headquarters as well as managing local business schedules to maximise productivity during visits.

What you bring:

  • Demonstrated experience registering companies in Thailand or similar jurisdictions with an understanding of relevant legal requirements.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with external parties such as accounting firms, legal advisors, tax consultants, and government agencies.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of human resources management practices including payroll processing, HR administration, recruitment procedures, performance evaluation systems, and employee development programmes.
  • Hands-on approach to general affairs management encompassing office operations oversight, facilities coordination, vendor management, and administrative support.
  • Strong interpersonal skills that foster trust-based relationships within multicultural teams as well as with external stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisational abilities enabling you to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail in all tasks undertaken.
  • Effective communication skills in both Thai and English (spoken and written), facilitating clear reporting to headquarters as well as smooth interactions with local partners.
  • Adaptability to thrive in a start-up environment where flexibility is essential for handling evolving priorities during initial office setup.
