What you'll do:

As a Human Resources Manager in this thriving manufacturing environment, you will be entrusted with guiding day-to-day HR operations while building strong connections across all levels of the organisation. Your role will involve acting as a bridge between management and employees—especially when it comes to union matters—ensuring everyone feels heard, respected, and supported. You will have the opportunity to shape policies that create a safe and welcoming workplace where everyone can flourish. By collaborating with hiring managers, you will help identify talent that not only meets technical requirements but also contributes positively to team dynamics. * Oversee daily operations across all aspects of human resource management, employee relations, and general affairs to ensure seamless support for both staff and management.
* Act as the primary liaison between the union and company representatives, facilitating open communication and mutual understanding to achieve smooth settlements of collective bargaining agreements.
* Provide expert advice to hiring managers on labour law compliance, HR best practices, and effective solutions for resolving people-related matters.
* Collaborate closely with hiring managers to gain insight into business needs, challenges, and ongoing issues in order to recommend tailored HR solutions that align with organisational goals.
* Identify and attract talent whose skills and interpersonal qualities complement team culture while supporting overall business objectives.
* Develop and implement policies or processes designed to foster a positive and safe workplace environment for all employees.
* Negotiate with external vendors to secure high-quality services that enhance employee satisfaction and wellbeing within the organisation.
* Support continuous improvement by monitoring HR processes and recommending enhancements that contribute to operational excellence.

What you bring:

To excel as a Human Resources Manager in this setting, you will bring substantial experience from the manufacturing industry along with a deep understanding of how effective HR practices can support business success. Your background should include leading teams through periods of change or growth while maintaining open lines of communication across departments. Familiarity with union negotiations or collective bargaining agreements will be particularly valuable as you help maintain harmonious industrial relations. Your interpersonal skills will enable you to build trust quickly—whether advising managers on complex employment issues or helping new hires settle into their roles. A passion for developing policies that promote safety, and wellbeing is essential. You should also be comfortable negotiating service agreements that benefit employees while aligning with organisational priorities.

* Demonstrated experience working within the manufacturing sector, providing you with valuable insights into industry-specific HR challenges.
* Proven track record of leading teams effectively while nurturing collaboration and professional development among colleagues.
* Comprehensive knowledge of human resources management principles combined with strong expertise in local labour laws.
* Experience engaging with unions and participating in collective bargaining agreement processes is highly desirable for this role.
* Excellent communication skills enabling you to connect empathetically with individuals at all organisational levels.
* Ability to offer practical guidance on HR practices or labour law matters tailored to specific business situations.
* A collaborative approach that supports hiring managers in identifying suitable talent aligned with both skill requirements and team culture.
* Capacity for policy development aimed at creating positive workplace environments where safety and wellbeing are prioritised.
