Head of Sustainability (Thai Conglomerate)
A leading Thai conglomerate is seeking a Head of Sustainability (X1 vacancy) to provide strategic direction and embed sustainability, ESG, and responsible business practices across the organisation. What you'll do:
As Head of Sustainability you will play a central role in shaping how sustainability is embedded across all levels of the organisation. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve developing forward-thinking strategies that integrate ESG principles into core business functions while ensuring compliance with both local regulations and global standards. You will oversee the creation of ambitious yet achievable targets for environmental stewardship and social responsibility. By collaborating with cross-functional teams—including operations, engineering, supply chain—you will help translate strategic goals into practical actions that deliver measurable results.

- Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability and ESG strategy that aligns with the company’s vision, business objectives, and regulatory requirements.
- Integrate sustainability considerations into all aspects of corporate strategy, operational planning, investment decisions, and risk management processes.
- Establish clear roadmaps, targets, and KPIs for environmental, social, and governance performance to ensure measurable progress.
- Oversee robust ESG governance frameworks to guarantee compliance with Thai regulations as well as international standards such as GRI, TCFD, ISSB, CDP, and UN SDGs.
- Lead accurate and transparent sustainability reporting processes while ensuring audit readiness and continuous improvement in disclosures.
- Drive climate-related initiatives including carbon management programmes, energy transition projects, resource efficiency measures, biodiversity conservation efforts, and decarbonisation pathways.
- Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, supply chain teams, and other departments to implement impactful environmental initiatives across the organisation.
- Lead social sustainability programmes focused on workforce wellbeing, diversity equity & inclusion (DEI), community engagement activities, and human rights advocacy.
- Engage proactively with internal and external stakeholders including regulators, investors, partners, NGOs, communities, industry groups, and public forums to foster trust and transparency.
- Build and nurture a high-performing sustainability team while promoting a culture of awareness throughout all business units; advise senior management and the Board on emerging risks, opportunities, trends.

- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, Economics or related discipline is required for this role.
- At least 15 years’ experience in sustainability leadership roles within large Thai or multinational organisations is essential for success.
- Demonstrated track record in designing and executing enterprise-level sustainability or ESG strategies that deliver tangible outcomes.
- Experience working directly with senior executives and Board-level stakeholders to influence decision-making processes around responsible business practices.
- Deep understanding of ESG frameworks (such as GRI/TCFD/ISSB/CDP/UN SDGs), sustainability standards, regulatory environments relevant to Thailand as well as international best practice.
- Exceptional business acumen enabling you to translate complex sustainability concepts into commercial value propositions for the organisation.
- Outstanding stakeholder management skills coupled with excellent communication abilities—both written and verbal—in English (minimum TOEIC score 750).
- Proven experience managing cross-functional teams in multicultural settings while nurturing collaboration across departments.
- Strategic thinker who excels at change-management initiatives within complex organisational environments; able to inspire others towards shared goals.
- High integrity combined with unwavering commitment to ethical conduct; adept at promoting responsible business practices throughout all levels of an organisation.
