An exciting opportunity has arisen for a an experienced manager specialising in Safety, Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) (x1 vacancy) within the construction sector. This pivotal role is based at a landmark mixed-use development in Bangkok, offering you the chance to shape and elevate safety standards across one of the city’s most ambitious projects. You will be responsible for providing strategic direction and expert guidance on all aspects of EH&S.

What you'll do:

As Assistant Vice President or Senior Manager Safety Environmental Health & Safety Construction you will play an instrumental role in driving the success of this flagship development. Your day-to-day activities will centre around providing strategic oversight for all EH&S initiatives—ensuring rigorous compliance with both local regulations and global standards. You will lead a team dedicated to maintaining exemplary safety practices across every phase of construction. By developing robust frameworks for risk assessment and incident prevention you will safeguard the wellbeing of everyone on site.

The package includes base salary + performance bonus + provident fund

  • Provide strategic leadership for the overall Safety and Environmental Health & Safety direction of the project, ensuring that all construction activities comply with Thai legal requirements as well as internationally recognised safety standards including ISO, WELL, and LEED.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve the project-wide EH&S framework by establishing robust safety policies, inspection systems, risk-control strategies, and incident-prevention programmes for all contractors and stakeholders involved.
  • Oversee comprehensive risk assessments throughout every stage from design through construction, ensuring early hazard identification, effective mitigation planning, and seamless integration of safety into construction methodologies.
  • Lead and supervise the dedicated Safety team by fostering strong capability, consistent performance, adherence to corporate expectations, coaching team members, providing technical guidance, and promoting cross-functional engagement.
  • Ensure full contractor alignment with EH&S requirements through regular audits, compliance monitoring activities, and enforcement of corrective or disciplinary actions when necessary to maintain high standards.
  • Review and endorse findings from safety inspections to ensure that all hazards are properly addressed and that risk-control measures meet both project-specific and international benchmarks.
  • Direct major incident investigations by conducting accurate root-cause analyses, implementing robust corrective actions and preventive measures while communicating findings clearly with senior management.
  • Lead management-level Safety Reporting by providing accurate updates on performance trends including Lost Time Injury rates (LTI), compliance status reports, and key risk indicators to inform decision-making.
  • Collaborate closely with sustainability teams to ensure construction operations fully comply with WELL and LEED safety-related criteria in support of certification targets.
  • Drive a strong safety culture across all site teams by empowering employees and contractors to assess work risks effectively, make safe decisions confidently, and adhere strictly to established procedures.
  • Proactively assess emerging risks that could cause operational disruptions or process failures; communicate recommendations promptly to senior leadership for timely intervention.
  • Work strategically with project management, design engineering teams, logistics professionals to manage complex safety risks including site traffic flow planning and construction staging challenges.
  • Oversee compliance with new laws or standards by ensuring timely updates to all safety documentation including risk registers and internal procedures so that best practices are always maintained.
  • Serve as senior advisor to project leadership on all matters concerning Safety compliance issues including risk exposure assessments as well as contractor performance evaluations.
  • Undertake other senior-level responsibilities as assigned by Head of Construction or Executive Management in line with organisational priorities.

To excel as Assistant Vice President or Senior Manager Safety Environmental Health & Safety Construction you will bring extensive experience gained from overseeing EH&S operations within major construction projects. Your academic background should include relevant qualifications in occupational health & safety or engineering disciplines complemented by deep practical knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing workplace safety. You will have proven yourself adept at building dependable teams capable of delivering consistent results even under challenging circumstances. Your interpersonal skills—especially your capacity for empathetic communication—will enable you to foster trust among colleagues contractors stakeholders alike. Familiarity with international certification schemes such as WELL LEED will allow you to contribute meaningfully towards sustainability goals while your analytical approach ensures thorough risk assessments are conducted at every stage. Proficiency with digital tools enhances your ability to report accurately on key metrics while your resilience equips you to respond calmly during critical incidents.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety Safety Engineering or related engineering field is required for this position.
  • A minimum of 12–15 years’ experience managing EH&S functions within large-scale complex construction or mixed-use development projects is essential.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Thai legal requirements combined with familiarity with international EH&S standards such as ISO WELL LEED is vital for success in this role.
  • Demonstrated ability leading multidisciplinary safety teams while managing multiple contractors simultaneously is highly valued.
  • Expertise in risk management processes incident investigation techniques as well as advanced safety planning methodologies is expected from candidates applying for this position.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both Thai and English are necessary including proficiency in presenting complex information clearly at management level meetings.
  • Advanced proficiency using MS Office suite alongside specialised safety reporting systems is required for effective performance in this role.
  • Ability to work under pressure while making clear decisions that influence stakeholders across various project functions is important for thriving in this environment.
