Senior Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Manager Salary: Competitive and based on experience Location: Rayong
- Develop and implement comprehensive manufacturing strategies that optimise plant footprints and drive successful new programme launches within Thailand’s metal production sector.
- Oversee the execution of all local programmes in strict accordance with established standards, ensuring flawless launches by adhering to advanced manufacturing engineering deliverables.
- Design competitive, efficient, and safe manufacturing processes that consistently deliver superior results to customers while maintaining compliance with industry best practices.
- Lead regular reviews of programme deliverables with manufacturing engineering teams to ensure consistent application of standards across all projects.
- Coordinate key programme reviews with country or regional directors, preparing detailed presentations for leadership sign-off as required by product launch protocols.
- Support commercial teams during early project phases by reviewing capital expenditure investments for new quotes and preparing comprehensive quote packages.
- Continuously update and analyse manufacturing unit footprints to identify opportunities for improved competitiveness through value stream flow studies.
- Collaborate closely with continuous improvement teams on best practice initiatives aimed at operational excellence and waste elimination throughout the production process.
- Foster team development by building strong succession plans, creating individual development plans for subordinates, and actively promoting people engagement within the department.
- Ensure full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations by conducting risk assessments, participating in HSE meetings, and promoting a culture of safety awareness.
What you bring:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering—preferably mechanical, industrial or chemical engineering—with a solid academic foundation relevant to advanced manufacturing environments.
- At least 10 years’ experience within the industry; automotive sector experience is highly desirable for understanding complex production requirements.
- Proven expertise in welding production technology is essential for overseeing technical aspects of metal fabrication processes.
- Experience with CNC or robotic programming (Fanuc) as well as vision systems would be considered advantageous for process automation initiatives.
- Demonstrated skills in product design, assembly process development, layout planning—including greenfield/brownfield site development—and equipment specification management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of takt time analysis, line balancing methods, shop floor control systems, injection moulding processes, value stream mapping, roll throughput yield calculations, and quality systems implementation.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required to facilitate effective communication across global teams; strong command of office software including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio is expected.
- Ability to calculate robot/machine cycle times accurately while considering ergonomic factors related to loading/unloading parts into machinery.
- Solid understanding of plant layout design principles coupled with practical experience managing capital budgets for plant installations under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills—particularly in technical leadership—enabling you to develop tactical plans aligned with strategic objectives while working effectively within matrix organisations.
