Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Manager to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide leadership in the operations department, managing production and quality control to meet product delivery and inventory control requirements. The successful candidate will have strong management skills in operations, process control, and quality reliability, ensuring that customer expectations are met in terms of quality, cost, quantity, and delivery. This role also involves optimising manufacturing resources to reach excellent standards of operations.

What you'll do:
As an Operations Manager, you will be at the heart of our client's manufacturing process. Your role will involve managing BSCs and KPIs for the operations department, planning production schedules to maximise resource utilisation, overseeing quality assurance systems, leading operational improvements across various areas such as cost reduction, quality enhancement, safety measures and delivery timelines. You will also ensure compliance with safety regulations while fostering a culture of collaboration within your team.
- Manage BSC and KPIs development and implementation of the operations
- Plan & manage production to fully utilise relevant resources like machine, manpower and raw materials
- Plan and manage quality assurance system by controlling inspection of raw material, in-process products, finished products & measuring instruments to comply with required standards/specifications
- Lead operations by developing and executing quality programs to meet/exceed customer expectations while satisfying internal financial measures
- Monitor operations performance including scheduling, production, and quality control activities, implementing corrective actions necessary to achieve company objective and KPIs
- Drive operations improvement by developing and improving people, processes, machines in Cost, Quality, Safety, and Delivery to align with business needs and customer satisfaction
- Communicate and cooperate effectively with teams within management structure to facilitate effective resolution to the operations and product delivery issues
- Direct workshop operations in a safe, effective and environmentally responsible manner
- Assure conformance to all safety regulations and any related government laws and regulations
What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Operations Manager role will bring a wealth of experience from the manufacturing sector, with at least ten years in similar roles. You will have a proven track record of implementing culture change and achieving tangible results. A graduate degree in engineering or a related discipline is essential, as is knowledge of manufacturing processes and SPC & QC tools. While not mandatory, 6 Sigma Black Belt certification and Minitab knowledge would be advantageous. Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken English, are also required.
- Ten years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Track record of implementing culture change with demonstrable results
- Graduate in engineering or related discipline
- Knowledge of manufacturing process
- SPC & QC Tools knowledge
- 6 Sigma Black Belt certification is desirable but not essential
- Computer literate with competence in all Microsoft applications
- Minitab knowledge is desirable but not essential
- Good communication & presentation skills
- Good English both written and spoken
