Utilities & Facilities Manager – Food

The Utilities & Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing all utilities and facility-related operations within a food and beverage manufacturing site. This role ensures safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective operation of utilities and facilities while leading and developing a competent technical team to support continuous manufacturing operations.

What you'll do:

• Manage facilities and infrastructure such as buildings, warehouses, offices, and support areas to maintain a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment.
• Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, environmental, health & safety, and local regulatory requirements across all utilities and facilities activities.
• Monitor and optimise energy and water usage, driving cost efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
• Manage external contractors and service providers, including safety compliance, and performance monitoring.
• Support utilities and facilities scope for projects, upgrades, and commissioning activities.
• Lead, coach, and develop the utilities and facilities team through effective planning, training, and performance management.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement mindset across the team.
• Prepare and manage operating and capital budgets, track KPIs, and report performance to management.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline).
• Minimum 10 years of experience managing utilities or facilities within FMCG or food & beverage manufacturing environments.
• Solid knowledge of industrial utilities systems, including steam, water, refrigeration, HVAC, and electrical systems.
• Proven experience leading and developing technical teams in a manufacturing setting.
• Working knowledge of food safety, EHS, and energy management standards and regulations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and levels.
• A results-driven mindset with experience in cost control, sustainability, and efficiency improvement.
• Hands-on experience managing contractors and service providers.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement using structured problem-solving tools.
