What you'll do:
As Head of Operations based in Bangkok, you will be entrusted with overseeing all Back Office activities related to securities settlement and share registration. Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve providing strategic direction to your team while continuously seeking ways to improve workflows for greater efficiency. You will be instrumental in developing systems that support new product launches—such as digital trading platforms—and ensuring these are underpinned by robust documentation and audit procedures. Regular interaction with both internal departments like Technology and Compliance as well as external partners including regulators will be essential for maintaining alignment across all operational activities. - Supervise all Back Office operations related to securities settlement and share registration, ensuring strict adherence to company policies as well as regulations set by governing bodies such as the SEC and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).
- Provide strategic guidance to your team by analysing systemic issues within workflows, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that increase efficiency, transparency, and alignment with industry standards.
- Develop robust Back Office systems and service structures that support the launch of new products including digital trading platforms, alternative investments, or other value-added services.
- Collaborate in designing comprehensive operational manuals, forms, documentation, and internal audit procedures for new products to ensure consistent service quality across all departments.
- Participate actively in meetings with internal stakeholders such as Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit teams as well as external parties including regulators, technology providers, and business partners to maintain alignment in operational execution.
- Authorise key transactions such as automatic fund transfers via ATS systems and share transfers through PTI systems while verifying accuracy in all financial approvals.
- Strengthen team capabilities by promoting job rotation, organising training sessions, and developing skill enhancement programmes aimed at building a flexible workforce capable of supporting business continuity.
- Monitor regulatory changes affecting capital markets operations and proactively update processes to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Champion cross-departmental collaboration to facilitate smooth implementation of new initiatives while maintaining high standards of operational excellence.
What you bring:
To excel as Head of Operations you will bring substantial experience gained from working within securities operations ideally spanning over eight years with proven success managing teams for at least five years. Your academic background should include finance or related disciplines which underpin your deep understanding of capital market regulations. You possess outstanding interpersonal skills allowing you to collaborate effectively across departments while maintaining open lines of communication with external partners. Experience developing Back Office systems or leading process improvements demonstrates your readiness for this role; any exposure to digital transformation projects further strengthens your profile. Your approach is marked by careful attention to detail especially when handling sensitive financial transactions. - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field is required for this position.
- A minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in operations within a securities company is essential, including at least 5 years spent in a management capacity overseeing complex teams.
- Comprehensive understanding of capital market regulations from authorities such as SEC, SET, TSD along with practical experience using ATS and PTI systems is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic thinking when solving multifaceted operational challenges within fast-evolving environments.
- Exceptional communication skills enabling effective collaboration with Technology, Compliance, Internal Audit departments as well as external stakeholders like regulators or technology providers.
- Proven track record in Back Office system development or process improvement projects; prior involvement in digital transformation initiatives would be considered advantageous.
