Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Unit Controller to join their team in Bangkok CBD. This role offers an exciting opportunity to act as a business partner to the relevant business manager, leading a local Controlling team to optimise financial performance within assigned Business Units/Product Group. You will be instrumental in supporting effective business decisions by monitoring, analysing, and interpreting financial data to evaluate various business alternatives and recommend the most appropriate business solutions.

What you'll do:

As a Business Unit Controller, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of our client's operations. Your primary responsibility will be to act as a strategic partner to the relevant business manager, contributing significantly to defining strategies for the operating units. You will oversee the business planning and forecasting process, translating strategies into measurable targets. Your keen eye for detail will be crucial in identifying commercial and financial risks, ensuring that all operations comply with corporate standards. Furthermore, your leadership skills will shine as you guide, motivate, and develop your team.

* Contribute to the definition of strategy for the operating units.
* Oversee the business planning and forecasting process.
* Monitor progress and provide insight and analysis to support operational decision-making.
* Identify commercial and financial risks and opportunities from business propositions.
* Establish processes and tools necessary for obtaining transparent and reliable financial data.
* Ensure compliance with corporate and country standards, regulations, and guidelines.
* Communicate efficiently with relevant internal stakeholders.
* Guide, motivate and develop subordinates within HR policies.

The ideal candidate for this Business Unit Controller position brings a wealth of experience in finance roles with P&L responsibility and team leadership. With a Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, you have honed your skills in business controlling tools, ideally including SAP S/4Hana. Your strong communication and negotiation skills enable you to thrive in a multi-country environment, and your result-oriented approach ensures business commitment. Your ability to define a case for change and mobilize individuals towards it is crucial, as is your inter-cultural sensitivity. Above all, your proven people leadership skills will be key to engaging team commitment and empowering teams to perform.

* Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting (bachelors degree may also be considered).
* Relevant experience of 4-8 years in finance role with P&L responsibility and team leadership.
* Proficiency in business controlling tools; knowledge of SAP S/4Hana would be advantageous.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills; ability to work effectively in a multi-country environment.
* Result-oriented approach with flexibility in committing to the business.
* Ability to define a case for change & mobilize individuals towards it.
* Inter-cultural sensitivity; ability to function well across cultures & act as facilitator between them.
* Proven people leadership skills; ability to engage team commitment & empower teams to perform.
