Accountant and HR Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and experienced Accountant and HR Manager to join an industry-leading organisation. This role offers the unique blend of accounting and human resources responsibilities, making it an ideal position for those who thrive in diverse roles.

What you'll do:

  • Handle all accounts payable transactions ensuring accuracy and proper classification
  • Manage accounts receivable including accurate posting, classification, and record maintenance of daily transactions
  • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to prepare daily and weekly management reports
  • Prepare financial reports as needed for management
  • Process payroll weekly while maintaining accurate employee records
  • Act as a liaison between management and employees addressing questions and resolving work-related issues
  • Administer employee benefits, conduct new hire and exit interviews ensuring understanding of benefit coverages
  • Manage health plans, employee verification, unemployment, and disability claims
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, fair employment practices, and government regulations
  • Oversee employee documentation including the Employee Handbook and disciplinary communications

What you bring:

  • Proven experience in both Accounting and Human Resources roles is essential
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and finance operations is required
  • Start-up mindset
  • Ability to prepare comprehensive financial reports for management review is crucial
  • Experience in processing payroll on a weekly basis is important
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise effectively between management and employees are needed
  • Knowledge of administering employee benefits is beneficial
  • Experience in managing health plans is advantageous
  • Understanding of corporate policies, fair employment practices, and government regulations is essential
  • Experience in overseeing employee documentation is necessary
