What you'll do:
As an Accounting Manager – Trading Sector based in Bangkok, you will be instrumental in establishing a high-performing finance function for a multinational trading business entering the Thai market. Your daily activities will involve designing robust accounting frameworks from scratch, recruiting and mentoring your own team, implementing group-wide policies locally, and ensuring all statutory requirements are met without compromise.

- Oversee all aspects of accounting and finance operations in Thailand, ensuring accurate financial management and robust internal controls are established from day one.
- Build and structure the local accounting team by recruiting talent, developing processes, and implementing effective systems tailored to both local needs and group policies.
- Implement group-wide accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to guarantee consistency with international standards while maintaining compliance with Thai statutory requirements.
- Ensure timely preparation of financial reports including monthly, quarterly, and annual closings that meet both local regulatory standards and group expectations.
- Coordinate closely with regional and global finance teams to align financial strategies, share insights, and support cross-border initiatives.
- Support key business decisions by providing insightful financial analysis that drives operational efficiency and strategic growth within the trading sector.
- Drive ongoing process improvements by identifying opportunities for optimisation across all accounting functions and championing best practice adoption.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, sales, HR, and IT to support business expansion efforts and ensure financial considerations are integrated into broader company objectives.
- Participate actively in audits by liaising with external auditors, tax advisors, and government authorities to ensure full compliance with all legal obligations.
- Adapt quickly to evolving business needs by taking on both strategic planning responsibilities as well as hands-on operational tasks during the initial setup phase.

- Proven experience managing accounting or finance functions within retail or trading businesses is highly preferred due to sector-specific complexities.
