Accounting Manager (Pattaya)

Save job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounting Manager (x1 vacancy) to join a respected international school in Pattaya. This permanent, full-time position is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative and supportive educational environment, where your expertise will directly contribute to the financial health and operational excellence of the institution.

What you'll do:

As an Accounting Manager based in Pattaya, you will be entrusted with significant responsibility for maintaining the integrity of all financial records within the school. Your day-to-day activities will involve close supervision of an experienced accounting team as you coordinate their efforts towards achieving timely completion of critical tasks such as monthly closings, reconciliations, tax submissions, and audit preparations. You will regularly prepare detailed financial reports—including profit & loss statements and balance sheets—and lead discussions with senior finance leaders to review these results.

The package includes base salary + compensation

  • Oversee the daily operations of the local accounting team by managing workflow allocation and ensuring tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Supervise accounting professionals while reviewing transactions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and fixed assets to maintain high standards of accuracy.
  • Perform monthly and yearly accounting closings with precision to meet tight deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare comprehensive monthly profit & loss statements as well as balance sheets to provide clear insights into the school's financial status.
  • Lead month-end financial statement review meetings with senior finance managers to ensure transparency and accountability across all reporting activities.
  • Ensure timely preparation and thorough review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations to support sound financial decision-making.
  • Review taxation matters before submission to relevant authorities, maintaining strict compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Liaise effectively with external auditors during year-end statutory account processes to facilitate smooth audit outcomes.
  • Manage supplier relationships including banks, legal representatives, collections agencies, and auditors to support seamless financial operations.
  • Drive overall accounts receivable processes and collection activities within the school to optimise cash flow.

What you bring:

The ideal candidate for the Accounting Manager position brings not only technical proficiency but also a genuine passion for working collaboratively within an educational context. Your background should reflect hands-on experience managing complex accounting functions—preferably within organisations subject to rigorous audit requirements—and an ability to interpret evolving regulatory frameworks such as IFRS or TFRS. You are comfortable navigating both routine tasks like reconciliations as well as more strategic initiatives such as system enhancements or process improvements. Your interpersonal strengths allow you to build trust quickly among colleagues from varied backgrounds while fostering open communication channels across departments. A commitment to continuous self-improvement ensures you remain current on best practices in finance while contributing positively towards departmental goals. Above all else, your reliability under pressure makes you an invaluable resource during peak reporting cycles or when addressing unexpected challenges.

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in business administration, accounting or a closely related discipline which provides a solid foundation for advanced financial management responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate substantial experience in accounting or finance roles—ideally complemented by auditor experience—with preference given to candidates holding Certified Public Accountant (CPA) credentials.
  • Exhibit meticulous attention to detail combined with analytical thinking skills that enable you to meet demanding deadlines without compromising quality.
  • Showcase proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders including school leadership teams, teachers, administrative staff, students, and parents in order to achieve shared objectives.
  • Display a positive attitude towards change along with adaptability when facing new challenges or evolving organisational needs within the educational sector.
  • Embrace a growth mindset characterised by openness to feedback as well as enthusiasm for ongoing learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal abilities alongside strong written communication skills that facilitate clear information sharing across multiple departments.
  • Demonstrate effective time management skills allowing you to prioritise competing demands while maintaining high productivity levels throughout busy periods.
  • Bring experience leading accounting operations independently while providing guidance on complex or non-routine transactions as needed by your team.
  • Fluency in both English and Thai languages is essential for success in this multicultural environment.

What sets this company apart:

Joining this international school means becoming part of an inclusive community dedicated not only to academic excellence but also holistic personal development—for both students and staff alike. The institution prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere where collaboration is encouraged at every level; here you will find colleagues who value mutual respect, open dialogue, and shared success. Professional development is actively supported through access to training resources as well as opportunities for cross-functional engagement—enabling you to broaden your skill set over time. The school’s commitment to bilingualism reflects its global outlook while fostering cultural understanding among staff members from diverse backgrounds. Flexible working arrangements may be available depending on operational needs—helping you maintain work-life balance even during busy periods. By joining this team-oriented environment in Pattaya’s thriving educational sector, you can look forward not only to advancing your own career but also making a lasting difference within the wider community.
