Accounting and Tax Manager

What you'll do:

• Take charge of all financial accounting activities including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets management, inventory accounting (including consignment), general ledger maintenance, and revenue recognition processes.
• Ensure meticulous reconciliation of fixed asset registers while managing operating expenses with careful oversight of cash payments, collections, and bank account reconciliations.
• Handle intercompany trading balances with accuracy, ensuring financial statements such as trial balance, profit & loss, balance sheet, cash flow statements are precise and actuals/forecasts are loaded promptly into group reporting systems.
• Lead proactive tax management by preparing half-yearly and yearly tax returns with robust audit trails; coordinate with tax advisors on complex matters like transfer pricing documentation and indirect tax submissions.
• Work closely with business units to ensure timely month-end cut-offs; review monthly balance sheet reconciliations with comprehensive supporting details; clear long outstanding balances; provide forecasting assistance across departments.
• Prepare statutory report including consolidated balance sheets; coordinate with international offices and head office on reporting issues while managing external auditor relationships effectively.
• Maintain rigorous inventory controls by ensuring complete recording of transactions at proper valuation within the ERP system; reconcile subledger balances to the balance sheet while monitoring inventory aging to minimise slow-moving or obsolete stock provisions.
• Forecast cash flow requirements based on accounts receivable/payable status and payroll needs; monitor receivables collection timelines while managing inter-company loan facilities to ensure liquidity needs are met efficiently.
• Play an active role in finance projects focused on process improvement and simplification; collaborate with IT teams to evaluate system requirements for work flow optimisation and seamless integration of finance-related functions.

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or equivalent academic qualifications is required for this position.
• A minimum of five years’ managerial experience in a similar capacity within multinational or listed companies is essential for success.
• Comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting principles as well as management accounting practices is necessary for effective performance.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are vital for interacting across departments and international offices.
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in environments requiring excellent attention to detail while managing multiple priorities simultaneously is important.
• Proven organisational skills combined with leadership abilities that foster coaching and development within teams are expected from candidates.
