What you'll do:
As Head of Accounting you will be entrusted with leading a dedicated team responsible for all facets of the organisation’s accounting operations. Your day-to-day activities will involve managing complex closing processes throughout the year while ensuring every transaction meets rigorous compliance standards. You will play a central role in developing policies that safeguard the organisation’s assets and reputation. By collaborating across departments—including actuarial, claims, underwriting, and reinsurance—you will help create seamless workflows that underpin accurate financial reporting. * Lead the accounting department by overseeing all functions including TFRS17 compliance, premium processing, claims management, reinsurance accounting, fixed asset tracking, and investment reporting.
* Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes to ensure timely and accurate financial statements that meet both regulatory requirements and organisational standards.
* Review and approve journal entries and reconciliations to guarantee accuracy and adherence to established accounting policies as well as company procedures.
* Develop and implement comprehensive accounting policies along with robust internal controls that align with local regulatory requirements and group best practices.
* Collaborate effectively with actuarial, claims, underwriting, and reinsurance teams to maintain precise accounting records and facilitate smooth interdepartmental operations.
* Provide guidance, mentorship, and ongoing training to the accounting team members to promote their continuous professional development within a supportive environment.
* Monitor changes in accounting standards and regulatory requirements specific to the non-life insurance industry; proactively implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.

* Experience managing relationships with auditors, regulators or senior management reflecting strong interpersonal skills required for stakeholder engagement.
